Those Delhi Rains
To everyone who got soaked yesterday
Same pinch, bro.
The plethora of online portals tell us about the next big thing and we are left in a jiffy. Go, click, shop. There, now you have it too.
I recently read an article about the monsoon and relevant makeup tips popped up. Go apply that foundation, put on that waterproof mascara and kick some ass. The problem? Only that when you are wafting your way through knee deep waters and trying to scout a mode of transport, mascara and makeup for that matter of fact, is the last thing on anyone's mind. Suddenly the displays of printed backpacks look rather passive. I don't need a printed bag; perhaps a waterproof one. No thank you for the white sneakers , but flip flops will do just fine.
As I stumbled across town after being blatantly rejected by countless autowallahs, there's one thing I realized- vanity is good, no great. But it's not permanent. You know what is? Utility. I know I am going to forget this by the next time I am shopping online and perhaps you will too.
But today as I keep up a brave front like the million other commuters who have to be at work, I know this: all I need to survive today is a spare change of clothes. And trust me when I say this- it's fashionable as hell.
